My name is Yasmine. I am a 36 year old single mother raising two amazing children, Lyric who is 15 and Artis who is 8. Everything I do in life is for them and to give them a better future.
For years I have been working hard to become a nurse. It has not been easy. I work, take classes, and take care of my children all at the same time. Many nights I study when everyone is asleep because that is the only quiet time I have. Even though I work two jobs and face many struggles, I keep pushing forward because I know this calling is bigger than me. Still, it is very hard trying to pay for school while balancing everything else in my life.
Becoming a nurse is not just a career for me. It is a mission. I want to care for people when they are at their most vulnerable. I want to show compassion, patience, and love to patients and their families the way I would want someone to care for mine.
Right now I am facing a serious financial obstacle. I am responsible for paying my tuition out of pocket and I simply cannot do it alone. I have tried applying for loans and financial assistance, but my credit situation has made it very difficult. I am doing everything I can but I am still falling short.
As a mother, the hardest thing is feeling like I might have to stop chasing a dream that I have worked so hard for. I refuse to give up, but I truly need help.
This is why I created this fundraiser. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward helping me continue my education and stay on the path to becoming a nurse. Your support will not only help me, it will help my children see that hard work and faith can change our lives.
