Our family is raising funds to bring home a specially trained service dog for our son, Boone. Boone is an incredible little boy who lives with both epilepsy and autism, and this service dog will play a life-changing role in keeping him safe and helping him navigate daily life.
For Boone’s epilepsy, his service dog will be trained to alert and respond during seizures, providing an added layer of safety and allowing us to respond more quickly when he needs help. For his autism, the dog will assist with behavioral disruptions and elopement (wandering), helping Boone stay calm, grounded, and safely with his family in stressful or overwhelming situations. The goal is not only safety, but also greater independence and confidence for Boone as he grows.
In order to complete this process, our family will be traveling to Ohio for two weeks of required training, where we will learn how to work with the dog and bring Boone’s new best friend home. During this time, Kyle will be taking leave from work so we can fully participate in training and support Boone through this big transition.
All funds raised will go directly toward:
- Housing during our training stay
- Travel expenses
- Required supplies and equipment for our service dog
- Essential items to help our new family member settle into our home
Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means more than we can express. This service dog represents safety, stability, and new possibilities for Boone and for our entire family. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us take one step closer to bringing Boone’s service dog home. 🐾💙
