On September 21st, 2019 Emily Sauld passed away at Children's Hospital after battling an auto immune disorder at the age 14 . Emily was very involved in a lot of clubs and activities both inside and outside of school. She volunteered at the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha, was the President of National Junior Honor Society at Merton Intermediate School, participated in Student Senate, sang in the choir, and played volleyball; but, Emily's primary passion was basketball. She was on the AMSAC Merton basketball team, Arrowhead Basketball Club (ABC), Buzzsaw AAU travel team, and was looking forward to joining the Arrowhead High School Girls Basketball team. She always wore #4 on her jersey and played the post position. At a very young age, Emily and her sister Samantha wanted to have a basketball hoop in their driveway to practice. They quickly found out that didn't last long as the ball kept rolling down the driveway and into the woods on each shot.  Emily and Samantha wished that there was a basketball court at their local neighborhood park many times.

In loving memory of Emily and the game she loved, we are working to build a basketball  court at the Lisbon Oaks Park located in the Woodland Oaks and Thousand Oaks subdivision near our home. We also believe this would be an excellent addition to the community, provide future basketball athletes the opportunity to learn and practice a sport Emily loved so much.

We welcome your contribution to this memorial and great addition to our community!
