On October 16th, Beth Grant was taken to the emergency room in Sarasota, FL. She had been sick for a few days prior, and she was unable to keep anything down. The doctors in Sarasota ran numerous tests and discovered that she had a brain aneurysm.
She was transferred to UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL, on Tuesday, October 18th, and on October 19th, Beth underwent surgery to have the brain aneurysm surgically clipped to prevent further rupture. She tolerated the surgery well and was showing stable numbers for several hours.
She then began to show signs that there was some swelling that was happening in her brain. The surgery team made the decision to intervene. Beth was then taken back to the operating room to have a hemi craniectomy done to help relieve the pressure on her brain. The doctors continue to monitor her condition very closely and have been very reassuring to us.
Beth has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. She will remain here at Shands hospital in ICU for a few weeks and will then most likely be transferred to a rehabilitation facility.
As well all know, Beth is a fighter she is showing great signs of improvement and we all know she will continue to do so! Thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support! She won’t be able to make it without it!
