Help Rebuild GGIC Banda — A Place That Shaped Us
My name is Shweta Singh, and I and my 4 sisters are proud alumna of GGIC Banda, a girls-only school in the small town of Banda, India. This school played a pivotal role in shaping our life and the lives of so many girls who dared to dream beyond the limits of our surroundings.
During my recent visit to Banda, I went back to GGIC and what I saw truly broke my heart. The prayer ground where we once stood is now uneven and floods during the rainy season. The laboratories and basic facilities are damaged. With only one cleaning staff for the entire school, even maintaining clean bathrooms has become nearly impossible.
Fortunately, the current principal, Nimisha Ranjan (also an alumna), shares the same vision and passion for rebuilding our school. Together, we identified key projects that can make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.
With your support, we hope to:
Our First year Projects & Estimated Costs
1 - Build or renovate 2 clean, hygienic toilets and hire 2 cleaning staff ~$2,000
2 - Provide safe drinking water by installing 2 additional water coolers ~$500
3 - Repair or establish science/computer labs ~$300
4 - Supply books and learning materials ~$100
5 - Create a prayer/recreation ground for safe gathering and activities ~$8,000
Impact:
The school currently serves approximately 2,500 girls, and around 900 girls graduate from GGIC Banda every year, empowering a significant number of young women in the region with education and opportunities.
Accountability & Transparency — You’ll See the Impact
We believe in full transparency. Anyone who donates to this campaign will receive detailed reports, invoices, and photographic evidence showing exactly how and where your money is spent, and the work that was accomplished. A board formed under current principal (Nimisha Didi) leadership will closely monitor every project, and You’re always welcome to reach out for progress reports or verification documents at any stage.
Let’s help make GGIC Banda a better place to learn, grow, and dream—for generations to come.
