Basiru is a young man hoping to complete his education and open a business that would support his family and community. Unfortunately, this dream has been put on hold after his father died of Tuberculosis. As the eldest sibling Basiru was left with no choice but to become the sole financial provider for his family. As difficult as this has been it has only been exacerbated by Basiru contracting Tuberculosis recently. For the past few months he has been needing an oxygen tank that requires $98 refills just to feel at relative ease. His health has slowly declined, however, and Basiru needs greater medical intervention that is not available where he lives in The Gambia, so he will be transferred to a hospital in Senegal where he will stay for two weeks. The cost is approximately $381 US. Meanwhile, his mother and siblings still need to make rent and provide for other basic necessities. Without help from the community, Basiru's life is at risk and his family risks losing their home and security. Any amount is greatly appreciated and needed at this time. Thank you ππ»
