We have some exciting news !!! π Abigail McCabe, An 11-year-old competitive dancer from Toms River, NJ, is a proud member of the local Broadway on Main performance team. Recently, she achieved a significant milestone in her dance career! After participating in a national audition in July, alongside hundreds of talented dancers from across the U.S., Abby was ecstatic to be chosen to represent the United States as a member of the IDO Team USA πΊπΈ Contemporary/Modern Dance Team at the IDO World Championships in Kielce, Poland, from November 27th to December 2nd, 2024. This is a dream come true for Abby and a testament to her hard work and talent in the world of dance.
Founded in 1981 and based in Denmark, the International Dance Organization (IDO) hosts prestigious worldwide dance championships with over 90 member nations. Abby's selection to represent Team USA is a remarkable step forward in her dance journey, allowing her to showcase her skills on an international stage alongside dancers from around the globe.
As the youngest of six children, Abby has been dancing since the age of two and is deeply passionate about her craft. As she prepares for the IDO World Championships, Abby is reaching out to her community, local businesses, friends, and family for support to help make her dream a reality. Any contributions, no matter how small, will go towards her registration fees, coaching, choreography, travel expenses, and lodging for the event. Sharing her fundraising efforts will also help Abby achieve her goal and showcase her talent on a global platform.
With rehearsals for Team USA taking place in NJ and NYC, Abby is excited to perform at the World Championships in Poland, competing alongside dancers from over 90 countries. Abby is honored to represent the Jersey Shore, New Jersey, and the USA at the IDO World Championships. Notably, Abigail is the only dancer from Ocean County and South Jersey selected for Team USA πΊπΈ and one of just a handful chosen from the Tri-State Area! Furthermore, she is among fewer than 30 dancers selected from the entire U.S. under the age of 12. She is dedicated to making everyone proud!

A couple of weeks ago, Abby received an invitation from the IDO/Team USA officials to submit a video audition for a contemporary solo, in addition to the group dances she has already been selected for as part of Team USA. With the help of her choreographer, Bobby Lane, she learned a brand new contemporary solo in just five days and submitted a video audition. Abby is thrilled to announce that her solo has been selected to compete in the solo portion of the championships, alongside her group dances! This adds an exciting new element to her incredible journey!!!
