I'm starting this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of a dear friend who wishes to remain anonymous because she wants the focus on the cause rather than herself. She is a Syrian refugee who came to the United States seeking a better life for herself and her two daughters. Life has constantly struggled, but she has always maintained her resilience and hope.
Recently, my friend received devastating news: her father had fallen gravely ill in war-torn Syria. She hasn't seen him in over 13 years and is desperate to be by his side in his time of need. Her family lost everything in the war, and her father's illness is just the latest in many tragedies they've endured.
My friend has been working tirelessly to save enough money to fly back to Syria with her two young daughters, but the cost of the flights is far beyond her means. Her daughters cannot be left alone in the US, and they must travel with her to visit their family.
This trip means everything to my friend. She has already lost ten people from her family in the Syrian civil war and is acutely aware of how precious and fleeting life can be. Her father has always been her rock, and she's heartbroken at the thought of not being able to see him one last time.
That's why I'm starting this fundraiser today. I'm asking your help raising the $10,000 my friend needs to make this trip a reality. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in her life and the lives of her family members in Syria.
