Mom, Betty Panela has been on dialysis for the last 4 years. She learned that she only had 1 kidney and that it was not functioning properly. For the past year mom has had trouble with her legs; trouble lifting them to stand or to walk. She has been in Legacy care home for physical therapy. In April of 2021, she learned that her heart valve was closing. Sadly, doctors were unable to proceed with surgery due to mom's health conditions and inability to withstand it. From October 2021 to present, mom has been hospitalized twice with pneumonia. Doctor's have informed us that mom's health and her heart are slowly shutting down. Mom returned to Legacy to finish her physical therapy. On Thanksgiving 2021, mom decided to stop all medicines, therapies and dialysis. She is tired and in pain. Mom is now awaiting a move into Hospice care where we hope to make her as comfortable as possible. All money donated will be used to pay off mom's funeral plan. My brother and I appreciate your generosity, thoughts and prayers.
