My name is Cassandra, I'm a 42-year-old female who has suddenly been diagnosed with Advanced Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2023, diagnosed very very late.
Here's my story: My clock is ticking! This disease is not lethal, but it is a rapid progressing disease that can lead to severe disabilities needing constant care and it is a daily struggle with pain, cognitive function and mobility. The damage thats been done is already done and is incurable. I am currently in a wheel chair. Without my Medical Insurance I will not be able to receive my Infusion treatments that I need to help slow this disease down.
The state does offer me free health care but it comes at a price. My specialist does not except it. I fought for 6 months getting my treatments approved as I got worse and worse. I do not want to go through that again and risk never being approved for the treatments that slow my progression. I'm in a great position right now with the best MS Specialist and Treatment in my area, but with no income and waiting for Social Security Disability income which could take 6-8 months. It is very important that I keep my medical insurance that I already have. The monthly cost of my medical is $431. If you or anyone you know can help... even just a few dollars would be a blessing. Without my current insurance, my treatments if even possible will be thousands of $$ out of pocket and would be devastating to my condition. I don't ask anyone for much, but this is one thing that's out of my control. Without treatment I will be come more diabled than I already am very quickly.
