Anyone that knows me knows how special my boy Albert is to me and to others. This boy has been by my side since the day he was born. Unfortunately just like his father he has been diagnosed with Stage 3 hemangiosarcoma. Which for those that don’t know it is a blood cancer that spreads through out the body through the blood system. New Year’s Eve he was very slow and at some times refused to move. So New Year’s Day we found a vet emergency hospital to find out that he currently has at least 7 tumors through out his body. One of which was on his heart and had ruptured. I had to make the decision to put him down that day or do a procedure to drain the fluid around his heart. Unfortunately surgery to remove the tumors would only cause him discomfort and pain just for more to come back shortly after so I’m doing what I can to relieve his discomfort with meds and supplements that slow the growth and progression of his cancer. His surgery and exam was around $2,000 and his end of life Euthanasia and cremation totals to another $500. Right now he is happy and resting has some of his energy back. But unfortunately these tumors are ticking time bombs and one could burst at any time. Right now I want to do everything I can financially to keep him comfortable and plan for the end of his life.
