Yousef Mohammed’s Story of Displacement from :
My name is Yousef Mohammed. I was forced to leave my home in Rafah and begin a painful journey of displacement, leaving behind the place where I had lived, my memories, and the life I knew.
We left Rafah carrying only a few belongings, not knowing where we would go or how long we would be away from home. We moved from one place to another, constantly searching for somewhere safer. With every move, we left behind another part of our lives.
Today, I am living in a tent under extremely difficult conditions. A tent cannot provide the safety and comfort of a home. The heat during the day, the cold at night, and the lack of basic necessities make everyday life a constant struggle.
The hardest part is feeling unable to provide my family with the safe and dignified life they deserve. Food, clean water, medicine, and a safe place to sleep have become daily concerns.
Despite everything we have endured, I still hold on to hope. I dream of the day when I can return to Rafah, find a safe place for my family, and rebuild the life we lost.
This is my story — Yousef Mohammed, a person who never chose displacement but was forced into it, and who continues to hope for a day when safety and peace return to his life.
