I spent most of my life on the go as a restaurant manager—always moving, always working, never slowing down. Then my life changed overnight when I woke up unable to walk. I spent 16 months in a wheelchair and was eventually diagnosed with a very severe form of rheumatoid arthritis.
As if that wasn’t hard enough, my heart shattered when my 15-year-old was diagnosed with the same disease just a few weeks ago. We’re now navigating life on one income and we are really struggling while I search for work I can physically do, learning to slow down, adapt, and rebuild.
