Updated 4/23/2026:
We’ve been so deeply moved by the love, support, and thoughtful suggestions so many of you have shared with us. It truly means more than we can ever put into words. 💛
So many people have reached out with ideas for charities and assistance programs, and we absolutely intend to explore every one of those options. We are incredibly grateful to even have those resources ahead of us.
Right now, we are in a waiting space—one that requires a full diagnosis before many of those supports can step in. In the meantime, expenses have already begun and continue to build. From the hospital stay earlier this month, to testing, imaging, and biopsy work—these are costs that, at this point, are not covered by anything we’ve been made aware of.
Today we received our first two bills. One of them was just for the overnight hospital stay to rule out a pulmonary embolism—and it was a sobering reminder of how quickly this all adds up.
On April 2nd, Robert went into urgent care thinking he had a simple cold or flu. A chest X-ray revealed a large mass in his right lung. After further testing, including elevated markers that initially raised concern for a pulmonary embolism, we were given the diagnosis: lung cancer and advanced emphysema.
Robert does not currently have insurance, despite his years of hard work and dedication. There are many appointments ahead—both here and out of town—and we will both be missing work as we navigate this path.
There are new advancements and hope in lung cancer treatment—but they come with significant cost.
And still… we choose to stand in gratitude.
We trust that the right resources, the right support, and the right outcomes are unfolding for us. We are holding onto abundance, even in uncertainty.
Every act of support—every donation, every share, every kind word—is already making a difference. You are helping us meet these immediate needs while we walk toward answers and next steps.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for lifting us up. Thank you for breathing hope into this journey.
Every donation… it’s a breath of relief. 🤍
