Help Us Rebuild After the Fires
Hello, my name is Ruth Esther Fabian, and I live in Los Angeles County with my family of seven, including five small children ranging in age from 8 years old to just 2 months, and our beloved furry friend, Toby. Recently, the wildfires turned our lives upside down, forcing us to evacuate and bear the costs of relocation.
Before the fires, I had just finished paying off the remainder of my medical bills and was beginning to recover from a difficult and complicated pregnancy. The arrival of this disaster has set us back significantly, compounding an already challenging season of life.
I also run a small business here in Los Angeles, providing essential services to local business owners. Many of our clients have been financially impacted by the fires and are unable to pay for the services we offer. However, we continue to support them in good faith, helping with administrative tasks, navigating SBA disaster funds, filing insurance claims, and finding ways to alleviate their stress during these challenging times.
As many of you know, accessing emergency funds is a slow and complicated process. While we await assistance, we’re doing everything we can to rebuild our lives and remain in Los Angeles—a place that has become home to us, with a wonderful community and incredible friendships we’ve built over the years.
Balancing postpartum recovery, relocating our family, running a business, and supporting our clients’ economic recovery has been an overwhelming journey. Yet, through it all, I’ve witnessed the resilience and strength of the people here, and I’m so grateful to be part of such a remarkable community.
We humbly ask for your support as we work to rebuild our family’s stability and continue serving the Los Angeles community during this time of need. Any contribution will help us stay on our feet and move forward together. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
