Help Us Light the Path for Those Facing Cancer

Every day, countless individuals hear the life-altering words: “You have cancer.” In that moment, fear, confusion, and isolation can take hold. But no one should have to face cancer alone.

At Light Their Path, our mission is to empower those affected by cancer by building compassionate, inclusive, and accessible support communities. We connect patients, survivors, and their loved ones with a cancer buddy—someone who truly understands because they’ve walked a similar path.

These peer-to-peer relationships offer more than just emotional support. They provide hope, shared strength, and a sense of belonging during one of life’s most difficult journeys.

But we can’t do this without you.

Your donation will be the seed money necessary to ensure our success.

With your help, we can ensure that no one walks this path alone. Together, we can light the way with hope, dignity, and resilience.

Donate today. Be the light in someone’s darkest moment.

My name is Danielle Hindieh and 18 months ago I was diagnosed with metastatic carcinoid cancer.  I was also accepted in veterinary school the same week I was diagnosed.

Starting school while battling cancer was an arduous journey.  One I knew I could not do alone.  I reached out to a professor for guidance on how best to manage my study time.   I did not know that this would be the beginning of a wonderful friendship.  This professor informed that he was a two time cancer warrior and asked me if I wanted to become "cancer buddies."

Six months ago, he shared with me a quote he had seen in his oncologist office, " You thinking you're walking through the darkness not realizing you are a light for those walking beside you."  He told me that I was that light for him.

Dr. Jerome Masty inspired to start a non-profit that was dedicated to making sure every warrior, survivor and caregiver could has access to their own cancer buddy, their own light in the darkness.
