My name is Kerisha, and I’m on a journey to become the first college graduate in my family.
I come from a hardworking family that has always done their best to make ends meet. We’ve never had much, but we’ve always had determination, love, and the belief that life can be better if you keep pushing forward. Education was always something I admired from a distance — a dream that felt just out of reach. But now, I’m determined to make that dream real.
Right now, I’m working and trying to go to school at the same time. I do my best every day, but it’s been pressurizing and overwhelming trying to balance everything. No matter how hard I work, I still find myself falling short of being able to cover all the costs — tuition, books, transportation, and just living day to day. It’s not easy, but I’m not giving up.
Education means everything to me. It’s not just about earning a degree — it’s about changing my future, building stability, and proving that no matter where you come from, you can create your own path. I want to show that through faith and persistence, you can rise above your circumstances and open doors that once seemed closed.
By completing my college program, I hope to build a better career — one that allows me to provide for myself and my family, to help my loved ones, and to give back to others who are trying to do the same. My goal is to be a light for those who think they can’t do it, and to prove that with hard work, heart, and belief, anything is possible.
