Philip Crossan had a fight for his life, and was on a ventilator several months ago. This precious family of 7 (kids ages 18 down to 10) found themselves thrust into a dire situation no-one exactly prepares for.

After a series of different doctor visits, the last two being two different ERs, , Philip found himself worsening with strange seemingly unrelated symptoms.  Denise, wearied and alarmed, took him to Aultman in Canton on a middle of the night ER visit around Rhe first week of October, when Philip started coughing up large amounts of blood.

The diagnosis after multiple tests, is an extremely rare autoimmune disease called Wegener’s Granulomatosis.  Philip is suffering from a vasculitis that is causing his lungs to fill up with blood, amongst other issues.  Philip had lost his job in May of 2024,  and then this major trial!

Their financial needs are ongoing and critical since Philip still today, cannot work yet also has been repeatedly denied for disability income.

Please help this family out and relieve their financial burden. Thank you so much

Philip- we are waiting on Social Security disability for a hearing date. This time, his case will be heard before a judge. (Could take up to 12 to 18 months to secure the date for the hearing). Still dealing with Wegener’s Granulomatosis symptoms. Infusions every 6 months to keep it in check. He deals with constant chronic fatigue, muscle pain, and weakness.
Prayers, the Lord's will be done thereπŸ™.

Naomi- she has a part-time job online. It's a gig job. It's part-time hours when projects and work are available. She is also running our advertising/marketing side of our business. Prayers for her success at work πŸ™.

Mosheh- He's enrolled in his second year of business class with the career center πŸ‘. He is also part-time running eBay sales on eBay, Prayers for a successful school year, and more sales. Also running our website NineDiamondRanch.com. There have been sales, but it's not enough to sustain our family. Prayers for a successful school year and more sales πŸ™.

Ruth, Sarah and Jonathan- all are currently in school and working diligently on their studies. Also prayers for a successful school year for the other children as well. πŸ™

As for myself, I just recently got an online job working from home. It's part-time and barely above minimum wage. It helps keep my mind off my current situation of recovery from the foot surgery that I just recently had. (Complete tendon transfer, shaved down the calcified tendon, and removed damaged tendon parts). I will likely be non-weight bearing for 6 to 8 weeks. Total recovery process expected to take a year and half.

Even though Naomi and I are both working when we have work available, we aren't able to bring in enough to pay all our bills. With Philip being unable to work and no disability money coming in, we have very little money to live off of.

Philip still has a lot of pain and weakness caused by Steroid Induced Myopathy. His legs, back and neck are constantly stiff and painful. The doctors are saying it is caused from being on high doses of steroids for so long. The steroids have also affected his vision and he has a difficult time seeing anything close up. The liver problems haven’t gone away either. The liver doctor was recently suggesting getting a liver biopsy done. In the procedure, they insert a needle through his side and all the way into the liver. The needle grabs a small piece of the liver and brings it back out, they do this five times. Philip’s next infusions are scheduled for September, he has to get these every six months for the rest of his life. The infusions take five to six hours per session.

He has not been able to work. We have tried for disability, and it was turned down and re-tried twice, we are currently on a third attempt. I will soon be having foot surgery and will need to stay off my feet as much a possible for six to eight weeks. Further complicating things as far as earning income.

Usually, Philip has at least one doctor appointment per week and sometimes more. Plus, he has physical therapy twice per week. We are very busy with doctors, plus our five children, and just trying to stay afloat. We do not have an income at this time, our website sales have been small. Thank you for any help whether it is a Spot Fund donation, or Amazon Wish List (see previous post below), or our website NineDiamondRanch.com

Please keep praying for us. We appreciate you all very much.

From Denise:

This past month Philip liver has been slowly moving into a dangerous zone. Why? Doctors think it was caused by the medicine πŸ’Š they gave him to save his life. HE CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HIS MEDICINE. If he decided to not take the meds, it would be like Russian roulette with the Wegener’s Granulomatosis. Do we take our chances with this medicine he needs every 6 months (the infusions)? Or do we take our chances with this illness?????

A month ago they tested his antibodies. There were none. MOVE ON TO TODAY....He just recently had his blood tested and THE ANTIBODIES ARE BACK! And they are HIGH!!!

NOT GOOD!!!!

I'm not sure exactly what to say or what to think. We aren't really in a great spot right now.

People ask how are we doing?

That's a loaded question. We are learning. We are learning to live with an illness that doesn't want to go away. We are learning to live with limitations and not feeling well. We are learning to live inside a difficult time of our lives. πŸ’”

There are a few ways you can help.

I'll list them here.

1. Spotfund....

This illness isn't going away. There is no cure. He needs to see his team of doctors. They are estimating he needs to see one at least every other month. But we have had ONLY ONE WEEK SINCE NOVEMBER with no appointments. This week we have 4!!!! 4 appointments. 😡‍πŸ’«πŸ˜΅‍πŸ’«πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜©

What will we use SpotFund donations for?

Bills, groceries, daily essentials. We wouldn't also appreciate the $$ funds for gas to and from doctors. We also get hungry 😬. It would be nice to be able to feed Philip while I run him here and there.

2. Amazon Wish list

Another way to help us just get through day to day as a family. It also includes some medical alert aids to help keep Philip safe in case something happens

If you remember we also have 5 KIDS😳!!! 😎😘😘😘😘😘

3. NineDiamondRanch.com

We also have a family business. It's a business that my children and I are taking over. We are stocked and ready to serve you!! πŸ₯³πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

We appreciate each and every one of you precious souls ❀️. You are dear friends and special ♥️ to my heart. We love you all!!!

Thank you for prayers and support.

Please continue to pray. We would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!!

Love, Denise πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ˜˜

Philip is at home but still not 100%. He was in the hospital for four weeks followed by two weeks in a rehabilitation facility for physical therapy because he was unable to stand or walk. Currently he is able to walk short distances. He is unable to work and has doctor appointments every week. He has to see five different doctors every month plus he has to get infusions every two weeks to keep the antibodies down. Any donations are still needed and much appreciated. We have also put together a book detailing more of what all has transpired with this medical emergency.

“Philip was on 4 sedation medicines. Successfully
weaned off one as of this morning. Doctors rounded this morning. Told me it's not good to be a ventilator for long periods of time. Said they are planning to go ahead with tracheostomy Monday. Will be more comfortable and need less sedation.
Kidney doctor said his kidney function is improving.
Seems like fever is gone.
They didn't do chest xray today, not sure why.

Next step is to pray this is successful.

After that, I don't know much.

Seems like they just take it day by day with Philip.

He's been so sick and has been through so so much. This has been so very hard on him and his body.

Today they are just working on keeping him stable and calm.

Will update later if things change.“
