In the spring, I plan to be moving to Bucks County. My son is adamant that he does not and will not move there. He will be homeless. I asked him to come. He said there are too many bad memories that cause him more mental health issues. He has a mental health disorder and wants to stay near his mental health doctor's here but mostly he can be in this rural area. He does not want to be around people. He will need a cheap truck to get to the appointments, get medications and food. He said he could stay in his truck temporarily but he’s hoping to get enough help to find a place to live. He has no savings only a small amount of disability. I have already signed him up for a food pantry. The Mental Health System has not been helpful. I was appalled that they told me to drop him off at a homeless shelter. Some of them here, kick them out on the street at dark.
Years back he was hit by a drunk driver in a truck as he walked along the road. That accident had caused his mental health disorder along with previous drug issues. He takes his meds and understands what happens when he doesn’t take them. He has lived with me for the last 6 + years here in the Poconos.
He has pleaded with me to make him a SpotFund page. After being harassed, I am finally doing this for him. I’m embarrassed. But this is what he wants to do. I cannot financially help him during my transition, as I have done many times before.
I don’t know how well he will do on his own. Maybe this will help him on a new path. I pray he will be fine since he has lived on his own before. Thank you.
