I say this with a heavy heart, but I am left with no choice, other than to share this story. It all began March 14th, 2009, when CPS took four of our grandchildren, ages 5, 4, 2, and the youngest being only two days old. The thought of them being placed in the homes of strangers, for us to never see again, was just something we couldn’t allow. Although we had already gone through twenty-eight years of raising children, we decided to start again with them. We took the two oldest, while my mother (Anna Doucette Nichols, 73) and father (Jerry Nichols, 75) took the youngest two. In 2014, my parents moved from Houston to Virginia with the two youngest. All was well up until recently when my mother suffered a stroke, which has affected the right side of her body. The effects of the stroke have hindered her everyday life. Unable to complete certain tasks, it has been up to my father to care for her. He was spending so much time at home, caring for her, that he lost his job. Trying to pay for food and bills, while caring for his wife and the two children has not been easy for him. I have been working to find a way to get to Virginia, to help care for my family. Not only will I need the money to get there, I also need money to get a vehicle and help pay for food and bills once there. I ask that anyone willing and able please help us. I am beyond grateful to anyone that not only helps us, but anyone who just takes the time to listen to our story. May the lord bless you all.
