Hello friends, I am Shadi from Gaza. I am 19 years old. I live with a family of 7 people, with my father, mother, my 21-year-old sister, my brother Rami, 16 years old, Ahmed, 14 years old, and Moatasem, 7 years old. Before October 7th we had a beautiful life. Nothing could prepare us for the killing, displacement, and starvation we have been experiencing for over a year. Our home was destroyed and we were displaced to the Al-Mawasi camps. Life was very difficult there. We lived in a tent with no protection from the heat of the sun, we slept on the sand.The army bulldozed our tent and only shelter, forcing us to return to the rubble of our destroyed home east of Khan Yunis. We drink salty well water and it is difficult to get food due to its scarcity and high prices. The days are bitter for us and our survival is a daily struggle. I lost my grandparents, many of my friends, and our home. We lost our clothes, food, and everything we own. My brother has difficulty speaking after witnessing his friend get cut to pieces before his eyes.The crossings are closed and prices for everything is high. I appeal to you, the outside world, to help my family through this campaign. It is our only lifeline. I hope that you will be the reason for our warmth and happiness and alleviate our suffering. Please do not let us die hungry and thirsty. Help us. Thank you.
