Hi, my name is Mariyana, I'm starting this fund to raise finances for multiple family's that are fleeing the war in Ukraine. Specifically for families that are wanting to flee to the US but don't have finances for travel & plane tickets. 100% of donations will go directly for the need of the families.
The first family on the waitlist is a family of 8. They crossed the border to Poland three days ago & need our help to get them here. We were able to raise 1,400 trough extended relatives here in the states but we need to raise at least 5k more before we can purchase tickets. They URGENTLY need our help. Poland reached its limit of refugees and is only letting people pass through to different countries, this means that they can not stay in Poland. (Photo attached to this fund is of this family)
The next familly is a family of 6 who fled from Berdyansk, a city that is fully occupied by Russians. It's a miracle that they got out alive. They got under heavy fire and had to drive through fields that were full of land mines. It took them 3 days to drive through an area that normally would take about 3 hours. They had to abandon their car due to all the bridges leading out of town being destroyed. The only other way out was by train.
They are currently trying to cross border out of Ukraine and will need our help for plane tickets. They are in despair & loosing hope that it is even possible to make it all the way here. I know that we can make a miracle in their lives.
The next family is a widow with one child who fled from Donetsk a city under constant fire. Her father-in-law lives in Oregon where she will have a place to stay when she gets here, he can't help much with finances due to his medical disabilities.
She has been through so much already and needs our help!
There is a lot more families that are in need of help! I will be adding them to the list once they have all their documents in order. One problem that we are experiencing is no passport/expired passports or missing documents that are needed to cross border. The wait time to get a passport is currently one month but we have seen people get theirs in two weeks after they applied.
Some families are still stuck in cities that are under constant fire and simply can't get out. They are in need of our prayers! If & when they make it out I will be adding them to the list.
The families that I have listed here are not looking for handouts they are hard working people & are already asking if they will have work once they come here. Most have lost everything and will never be able to return to their homes! They are afraid for their life & the life of their children! Tomorrow is not guaranteed!
I will be helping all families that are relocating to Washington/ Oregon area with translation of all documents, transportation, finding work, housing and anything else that they will need.
We also will be opening our home for any of the families listed above that need a place to stay until we can get them permanent housing.
I will be giving detailed updates on what the finances are being used for.
