My first time dedicating myself to the mission of protecting our earth, I was seven years old, participating in a water rights protest in Nebraska. Later that year, inspired by the diminishing water in the Ogallala aquifer, I signed up for the Lincoln Public School science fair, and was blessed with my community's support. For months, I studied, built displays and became empowered by my passion for our aquifer. Six years later, I was lucky enough for the opportunity to pass along the same community values I'd received, when I began mentoring Jordan, and sponsored her first science fair. I continued in my pursuit of promoting environmental education for the next eight years. Building on my love for people and the planet, I received a degree in Environmental Science from Drake University, specializing in climate and statistical ecology. With my love for promoting a healthier planet, I also received my Climate Reality Leadership Corps pin, and represented Iowa for the collegiate brand United Nations Association on the environmental advocacy panel. I also worked as an environmental and international relations intern on the hill, working for Representative Chris Pappas.
Most importantly to me, and my story, though: In 2017, when I was Jr Miss Earth United States, I watched my sister queen, Andreia Gibau receive a semis placement, and cheered for her accomplishments, while also witnessing the crowning of the incredible Karen Ibasco. I have dreamed of becoming Miss Earth ever since, and spreading my mission for Earth Angels on a global scale, so people around the world are encouraged to get involved in conservation!
