Hello all, I am currently a stay at home mother of two children in a central Phoenix Neighborhood. This time at home has given me the opportunity to get actively involved in my community as well as addressing some much needed issues. My kids as many others in my neighborhood are very active and love to ride their bikes and take walks with our dogs, unfortunately we have seen a recent increase in speeding vehicles. Safety has become a big issue. I have been work with the City of Phownix for close to a year to try and install speed control devices, AKA speed humps. This has been a long drawn out process and I am finally in the last stages of my petition. I have gathered signatures, we had a speed study completed, I've walked door step to door step informing my neighbors and most agree we desperately need this. Unfortunately I may not be able to meet my deadline to gather the needed funds due to some households inability to contribute financially to the total amount needed. The cost per speed hump at this time is $1200, this is what the community needs to come up with as the city is already covering the other $1200.
Please, from a concerned parent, to other safety concerned community members out there I ask you for any contribution you may be able to provide. I have paperwork if anyone would like to see it. You can also confirm all this information with a representative at the City of Phoenix if needed.
