I'm reaching out to friends and family on behalf of my good friend Michael Mungai (featured in the blue coat). We went to college together, and once he graduated he went home to Kenya to continue to support his community. Over the years we have remained in contact, and I continue to be amazed by his hard work to propel his community forward. Recently he reached out looking for help, and this is what he wrote: "I've been working with this group of young mothers raising children with genetic and neurological disabilities, and we are trying to register them with the Kenyan government as an NGO so I can apply for a grant for them. I’m writing a proposal for them. These young moms are so resilient and tenacious. Beyond all paperwork and everything, the registration of what they need is $300. If I can get them here, I can write a grant to help them get a website and an avenue to create resources that for now will assist 42 mothers and 50 kids."
In a case like this, truly any donation will help these mothers and children. If you able to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
