Teaching is my calling, and I love my job. Unfortunately, it does not pay very well and we won't even receive our first paycheck this year until Sept. 15th. Meanwhile school has started and we have to decorate classrooms and prepare to teach students who (for various reasons) typically do not have the supplies they need for school- these things are not provided by my school or the district that I teach in. All of this is very hard to do with little to no money and no hope of having any until mid September. So this 'Broke Teacher' is asking for help. I needs funds to decorate my classroom, to purchase notebooks & folders, etc - to help things run smoothly in the classroom & to make sure that no student goes with necessary supplies; and so that I do not have to choose between eating and making sure that I have what I need to ensure student success.
