I was introduced to the Atlanta Humane Society by my aunt who took me with her to adopt a dog a few years ago. She found a dog she loved and I helped her with the adoption process until she got to take Lucky home. I even went with her to the pet store right after to buy all the supplies. I have always loved dogs, but I hadn’t known what AHS really does. Now that I know more I want to do all I can to help.
Last year I had a dog food drive for my birthday to give to AHS. I donated 40 pounds of food.
A few months ago I went with my aunt to take a dog out on a Dog Day Adventure, where you take a dog out of the shelter for a day to show them some love and fun. The dog’s name was Selena and I loved her. Thankfully, she was adopted right after we dropped her off!
In January I spent a lot of time with my aunt’s foster dog, Mia. She had had a very tough life and it felt really good to give her some love and attention (and a bath!). She has been adopted too and is happy with a new family.
I want to continue to do good for the Atlanta Humane Society and other dog organizations so I’m asking for your help. All donations are appreciated!
