Join Meek Mill and let's fight for prison reform in America.
Over 6.5 million people are directly affected by the criminal justice system in America. That number reflects not only people who are in prison, but also those stuck in the cycle of being in and out of parole. It is a horrible system that once many people get into, cannot escape their whole life. Reducing the number of people that are trapped by this system is imperative. The United States represents about 4.5 percent of the world's population, yet it houses around 22 percent of the world's prisoners. It is a broken system that should demand our collective attention. This is only possible by changing the laws, policies, and culture of the criminal justice system in America.
Inspired by the unjust imprisonment of Meek Mill after a minor probation violation, Reform Alliance was created by Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter along with Meek Mill, Michael Rubin, and many others to tackle the problems with the current criminal justice system by creating a team of celebrities and politicians to create sensible prison reform in America. By reforming mass supervision laws that allow police to arrest people like Meek Mill for the most minor of parole violations, we can end the culture of injustice that has limited many people from living up to their full potential.
REFORM Alliance Goals:
- Change laws and policies related to mass supervision and incarceration
- Disable the revolving door of probation and parole.
- Build a team of celebrities to come together to fight for prison reform.
