A sweet and loving 7 year old boy is about to be traumatized by being ripped from his home and the life he is familiar with, if we cannot help his family.
Xander is a 1st grader in New London, Minnesota who currently lives with his Mom, Amanda. Xander has lived with his Mom his whole life and since his parents separated four years ago he has always resided with his Mom. Xander does have a good relationship with his Dad and adjusted well to the separation because he had the constant person he has always been with, his Mom.
Xander now has a beautiful blended family that consists of his step Dad and 5 step siblings at his home who adore and love him very much. Amanda's oldest adult daughter (Xanders biggest fan and sister) visits regularly.
Xander's Dad abruptly decided he wanted custody of Xander after all these years and took Amanda to a costly trial to take full physical custody. He used his family name, power and money as his reason and ability. Despite all the efforts and support from experts that Amanda and her family have, including the courts agreeing that Xander is happy, healthy and stable in his home the judge awarded Xander's Dad custody.
What does this mean? Xander will have to move to his Dad's home 2 hours away. He will have to start a new school he has never attended and leave behind all his friends in school, daycare and neighborhood. Xander will have to start health care with a new pediatrician, dentists and optometrist, all of which he has now with his Mom and is comfortable with and likes. He will live full time in an area where he has minimal to no friends and no close family except for his elderly grandparents. He will leave behind all his cousins whom he sees regularly and most of all his step siblings, step Dad and his Mom who is his whole world.
What can we do? The family has spoken to their attorney and the only option is to appeal. They have a very strong case and while the appeal process takes place Xander can stay with his Mom and family!!!
An appeal process is expensive and a lengthy process but the time allows Xander to not have his whole world changed, he gets to stay where he loves and is happy. Xanders family is willing to do anything they can for their child as any loving and devoted parent would and should.
They need to raise the money to start the appeal in 17 days!! Please consider helping this family and especially Xander!
Donations go straight to the family account that is designated for this purpose.
Venmo and Zelle options are also available. PLEASE SHARE!! If 1,000 people see this and can spare $10 we can reach our goal.
