Many are aware of Danny Pruiit being the victim of an attempted murder/certainly aggrevaited assault with a deadly weapon on June 4th 2020 while driving through Alamosa, CO during a BLM protest or at least a disguise of one. You can find footage on line of him being shot in the back of the head if you look for it. His crime? None. He was just a normal guy going to town to grab lunch for himself and his daughter. Some people decided to block him with their bodies and as they slowly moved out of the way he inched forward and Marshsl fired his weapon into Danny's head. And I need your help to help Danny, because our system is not.
While the DA is still deciding on what plea to give Marshal, the lawyer who shot Danny in the back of the head; Danny is still wondering what to expect in court in just over a days time. His court appointed advocate feels like anything but that to him at this point. According to Danny she has called to explain what Plea they would like to offer Marshal and when he hasn't wanted to hear it, but asked instead what time court starts, she's told him he can read about it in the paper. Danny lives in the "boonies" as I like to call them. He's very private and for good reason. Can you imagine they deliver the paper out in the "boonies", exactly! He's been expected to get himself to and from all appointments with lawyers, advocates, DA, VA etc. In fact, the VA told him to go to Pueblo where they could better serve him. All while knowing he has no functioning vehicle and little means to do so.
He moved to Colorado to start over and now all he wants is to move away. He is required however to be here for the trial. He is in serious need of having his vehicle repaired so he is able to take his daughter to visit her sick mother out of state, make it to any necessary appointments and eventually move when he is finally able to. He has been robbed of so much already, but the liberty to move freely takes a serious toll on him, especially with fall and winter approaching in this area. His truck needs a new motor and radiator that he's aware of. Still, I'd like to make sure all repairs are in order and that his insurance & registration are paid in full for the year. This is his main priority for right now.
He is not in a state where he has the capacity to deal with prolonged stress or complex thoughts and emotions and this makes this all the more difficult for him.
I know many people have asked how they can help. You can absolutely help. You can show up at court, even if you don't make it in the room, be there. Show them you care. Please donate to this gofund me and help Danny get access to a reliable vehicle again so he can regain some control of his life again and start feeling like people actually do care, not just say they do. Funds beyond that will help him to establish a home fir himself snd his daughter and get back on his feet where he prefers to.
His hope is to eventually leave when the trial is over and he needs the means to do so. I know I'm possibly being too hopeful with this gofundme for him. But he needs it and I believe in our community. Danny is a vet who fought for us and is still fighting daily to raise his daughter on his own. I think we can all spare a moment and some cash to help him get back on track.
