On Tuesday, Joel had a life altering medical emergency called a TYPE A AORTIC DISSECTION. This means that the main blood vessel within his heart, ripped. In most cases, this is fatal. We are so thankful our life of the party is still with us Earth side, especially for his Fiancé and his children.
Joel was working as an Iron Worker Apprentice. Unfortunately, as an Apprentice, he was unable to receive benefits such as short term or long term disability which he will desperately need now.
