This is the hardest battle I’ve fought in my entire life. But thanks to my kids, mom and husband not to mention my huge extended family we’re doing it together. I’m the mom of three kids Kyra, Brendan and Kyrsten. I woke up in ICU at Benefis hospital in Great Falls Montana with the doctor sitting on my bed. I asked him my options, he said you have two lie back down and finish dying or sit-up and eat and basically fight for my life. Being the mom of three young ones, my baby only sixteen at the time I laid back astonished at how my health had deteriorated so quickly. The week before I walked into the hospital ER at Havre Montana and was admitted. By the time I demanded a transfer and Great Falls accepted me, I needed two procedures and possibly two surgeries. My room board had baby written on it. I learned I had lost feeling from my neck down. I could only talk and move my head nothing else. My husband came and sat with me til I fell asleep. I woke to my mom Tracy saying “ Come on Carla, sit-up have a bite and let’s fight this” then she fed me by hand. My sister’s and brother’s Karen, Mike, Kristie and Mitchell came with their spouses and my 16 iof my 17 nieces and nephews. My dad’s family except two came, but for some reason I didn’t realize how sick I was. Through the horrible pain, I couldn't bare the hurt of leaving my kids without their mama ❤️.  So I fought as hard as I could and continue to today.

I spent 4 weeks in ICU at Benefis. Learned to walk with a walker and my daughter Kyra took me home to care for me, along with my mom who retired as a Community Health Supervisor and a former nurse.

I didn’t know I had cancer until October and in December learned it was stage four. My doctor in Great Falls referred me to the liver transplant center at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and my daughter took me to the satellite clinic in Spokane in November. I applied for SSDI and although my worker at the regional office approved me for a compassionate allowance, the state removed it and denied me. The costs associated with my medical care have put my family behind on bills. As my husband and I small business owners have no income at this time. Any help is greatly appreciated even prayers. Thank you
