Hi. I'm Krystal, I'm 36 and I have 5 kids. My dad died just 3 days before my wedding on 10-11-21.

My husband's name is John.

We went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Costa Rica and spread my father's ashes.

On December 16th I got a call that John had a seizure at work and was being rushed to the hospital. Come to find out, he had covid and they said it could be a symptom of that and sent him home to quarantine.

Then on February 5th 2022 while on a delivery, I get a call that he's had another grand mal seizure.

The next several weeks were doctors and new prescriptions and a diagnosis of epilepsy.

After his diagnosis in February I stopped delivering and was just a manager inside with him. This meant I took a 2-3k paycut. He had another seizure in April and this time we were afraid we would lose him.

We decided he needed to step down as gm after May even though he would be taking a paycut and we were already drowning in bills.

The extra time off did wonders and he didn't have a single seizure in June! Then July hit and between July 15th and the 22nd, he's had 4 seizures.

We currently have been out of work for 2 weeks but hopefully able to return to work part-time soon.

This puts it on me to try and bring in more income; but I can't leave him alone. I am trying to find remote work and he is going to college online in the fall. I know things will get better once we can both fully become remote at home together.

We just need some help to get caught up and until we can get some aid in the fall.

I'm hosting a benefit in Oak Ridge TN at the Grove Theater with a silent auction and carnival games on September 11th just 11 months after we got married to raise funds.

Can you make a donation for the silent auction?

Can you make a cash donation here?

Could you share this in case someone you know wants to help?

We have confirmed face painters and a fire dancer!

Sooooo true. We went back to work this week. Super part time, 4 hours Wednesday, 5 Friday and only 3 hours Saturday and it was a little too much for John and I. I have extremely bad anxiety. He had an aura last night and kinda weak today. He's resting while I'm sitting next to him planning our next stage of life, fully remote living. I have 3 interviews coming up and the fundraiser is taking off in ways I never would have dreamed. Our journey to remote living isn't taking away our freedom..... it's going to allow us more family time and safety. Physical safety for John as his seizures are much safer at home in bed. Safety for me not having a panic attack every time I can't see him or trying to race to him when he has a seizure. Benefits. Good insurance where I can get John the treatments he needs. He's currently weaning from Topamax by recommendation from his neurologist to see if he can be off medicine and keto diet high in mct oil could control his seizures. This is our transition time.
