I have been extended an offer to join City Teaching Alliance - Dallas! Within the four years of my program commitment and service, I will earn a Master of Teaching from American University School of Education, become certified in Secondary Literacy, Special Education (SPED), and English as a Second Language (ESL).
For those who don't know, I found myself in Special Education purely by chance after a layoff from corporate left me scrambling to find work in 2023. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with my SpEd Babies and decide to pivot from a SpEd Assistant to an actual certified Teacher!
I am deeply committed to this work and training to become a career teacher. As I embark on this new journey of a new career in a new city, I would appreciate any support you are willing to give towards my savings goal to ensure a seamless transition to Dallas in July 2025.
Funds received will assist in my relocation and the costs of starting anew in a new area such as much needed car repairs (tires, windshield, service), classroom materials, items for my kids and I, and making sure I don't have to worry about maintaining during my residency year since it's not recommended to work during Year One.
