Anyone who knows Julian, knows his passion for Japan runs deep in his soul!  A conversation with Jules eventually and inevitably leads to Japanese culture, artwork, literature, food or language.  Despite his educational and lifelong struggles with Autism, Julian has persevered and we could not be more proud of this truly unique young man.  Although he was unable to complete high school, Julian has taught himself how to read, write and speak Japanese at a conversational level so far and continues his studies daily.  Japanese is a category 5 language, one of the hardest languages to learn and yet he has done it with persistance, dedication and the purest love for the culture.  Julian's dream is to eventually live and work in Japan as a translator.  Now he has the chance to begin his journey and make his dream come true!  He will study abroad for 3 months in Kyoto, immersing himself into the culture and language at JaLS in June of 2023.  He will attend Intensive language courses 5 days/week along with total cultural immersion.  Julian will be working between now and June to save for his spending and allowance.  But he needs our help to make this dream come true!  Christmas and Julian's 19th birthday are just around the corner so if you'd like to contribute to "Julian Goes to Japan", please do!  ANY amount is deeply appreciated.
