We were lucky enough to stumble upon this sweet boy when he was a year old, and looking at a long stay at the animal shelter. We had two young boys, ages 6 and 7, the youngest having autism, so we decided we would just give it a trial run, to make sure their temperament would be ok for the Dog. Needless to say, we had him named and he was ours in less than two days. Donny we named him and he quickly became one of the best parts of our family!!! He is so sweet, and loving. He is silly, and loyal. We truly love our Donny boy. February, he turned 13! He now has a sweet lil kitty friend as you can see, we rescued this sweet, mostly blind kitty too. And she seems to think Donny is her parent. He is so sweet and gentle with her, the two are inseparable!
We took Donny in last week for his wellness exam and vaccines and heard the worst news ever, that the lump that was quickly growing on Donny's hip, which I thought was just inflammation, was in fact Cancer. And has to be removed. The Vet said even with his age, he is a great candidate for the surgery, and believes he will be quite healthy after! He has always been a healthy boy, and we really want him to stay around longer, but due to medical costs for our youngest, which exceeds $1000 monthly, we don't have the funds to pay for the surgery. It's scheduled for this Thursday, and should be about $500, give or take. Please help us get this surgery for our sweet Donny, he has given so much to our family, we have to give him this back!! Thank you so much!!
