Hi there, my name is Ashley. I work for Highland Lakes Dental in Marble Falls Texas. My boss Margaret and I are leading this SpotFund for a staff member, Anja Nylander. Our team is just as important to us as family, and we are asking for donations to help our family.
Anja is a hard working mother of 7 amazing children. Three of her children were taken in and adopted when they needed a stable home. Anja is really the sweetest person I know, she opens her heart out to anyone needing help, and she does everything she can for them, even if she is struggling herself. Her kids always have a roof over their head, clothes that fit, and food on the table. She volunteers for as many school activities that she can, and I always get videos of her kids having a blast together as a family. I don't know how she does it!
However, on August 4th 2022, while she was enjoying dinner with her family, she suddenly didn't feel right. As they were leaving the restaurant, she fell unresponsive. Nobody could wake her up! She was rushed to the hospital, where she was transfered to Austin after being intubated. She was unresponsive for several hours and admitted for 2 days. They ran 2 cat scans, an MRI, an EEG and 2 EKGs, a ton of blood work, with no answers for what happened. Anja was exhausted and was sent home very weak, unable to walk normally due to dizziness, and they told her she is not allowed to drive for at least 6 months. She was setup with different specialists, but a week later she was in the hospital again with the same incident. Still, no answers. She was again, relased very weak and restricted from driving.
Meeting up with a Cardiologist, an Echo was done and they had her wear a heart monitor for 2 weeks. Her blood pressure fluctuated and was dangerously high at inconsistent times. The only thing found was her left ventricle systolic pumps harder than normal. Again, no answers to what is going on, the doctors keep telling her she is healthy and they don't see anything wrong, but she can't drive.
The next step is to see a Neurologist, but they can't get her in until October. She has an appointment in October, but with missing work, and all the hospital bills on top of her normal bills, she is struggling to stay strong. It is very frusterating for her to be told there is nothing wrong with her.
Anja had an appointment with a different Cardiologist in October who has reviewed her case and noticed her original doctor didn't do a couple tests that she should have.. Including a stress test! We have started to notice triggers for Anja's symptoms that could help the doctor determine a diagnosis. For example, we layed her back in a dental chair and her blood pressure bottomed. She had another episode and afterwards her legs weren't working properly. She has had water retention constantly also. We are praying for answers for her and her family.
Please help us pay for her medical bills by donating whatever you can. Just one visit to TALK with the first Cardiologist was $600.. Every little bit helps! We will also be hosting a benefit for here at our office, serving tacos to help raise money. We do plan to have some fun games and crafts for children. If you would like to help contribute to that, please message me or Anja for the details. It will be at Highland Lakes Dental, Saturday, January 21st.
