First, let me say, thank you for taking the time to read our story. We started the adoption process for this little beauty when her Mother (my husband's daughter) was imprisoned on drug charges at 6 months along. We got the call that she was born and would have to stay in the NICU until they were able to wean her off the drugs in her little system. We cleaned, prepared everything and prayed for her until we got the call late on the night of Dec 13th 2017, that we could come pick her up. We left St Augustine to head for St Petersburg, all while arranging a meet up with family members to pick up the last minute things we had to have for her. We got to the hospital in the middle of the night, took our classes and got her Sheriff's office issued paperwork that included her footprint and a newborn picture. She was sleeping all alone in a Mamaru in a dark room when we got her. We turned right around and brought her home to St Aug to begin our lives as parents all over again. I was 47 and my husband 62. She's 7 now... And we've been discovering the afflictions ahe is suffering for being born to an addicted mother. She has ADHD and it has made disciplining and schooling difficult. She also developed a facial tic a few months ago where she scrunches the left side of her face when she's anxious, excited or nervous, the Dr says it is most likely Tourette's but we won't know for sure for a few more months. My husband and I took this leap of being new parents again, regardless of the cost - emotionally, physically or financially. We are both handicapped, my husband having suffered 2 strokes and a few blown discs in his back. I had a liver transplant and have osteoarthritis in both knees as well as Type 2 diabetes. But we live every day with love, joy and purpose because God has gifted us with this blessing! It's tough but we wouldn't have it any other way! God has made sure that our needs are always met. But this little girl deserves SOOO much more than the bare minimum that our Social Security can provide. She's going to be 8 this year and our dream is to put her future in place before God calls us home. She's never been to theme parks, misses out on a lot of fun, learning environments - swimming lessons, summer camps, etc. because we just can't afford it. But I will tell you that she is the most Humble, sweet, minimalist, joyful child you'll ever meet. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up and she catches flies in the house to it them out to "live their life". This beautiful little soul deserves more than we will ever be able to give her! Thank you again for reading! If you could, please share this for us! Everything you could do to help us accomplish these 'normal kid's goals would be so appreciated! She deserves one Disney trip, such a sweet little princess. Her name is Syasia. Thank you again! Please share for us!
